During this webinar, Dr. Ebony Carter, Director of the Division of Maternal and Fetal Medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and Cheron Phillips, community collaborator with the EleVATE Collaborative, shared perspectives on group-based education (GBE) and strategies for strengthening participation and retention in these programs. Their presentation explored what GBE is, recruitment strategies, participant engagement, facilitation techniques, and retention predictors, while also addressing common operational challenges and highlighting approaches that have led to successful implementation.
This session is part of the Healthy Start TASC’s ongoing Group-Based Education offerings, which aim to equip projects with practical strategies and tools for developing sustainable, impactful programs.
