CAREWare

What is CAREWare?

On behalf of and in partnership with the Division of Healthy Start and Perinatal Services (DHSPS), the Healthy Start TA & Support Center at NICHQ is pleased to announce that the CAREWare for Healthy Start database officially launched in August 2020!

  • There is no cost or contract necessary for using the CAREWare database for Healthy Start grantees.
  • The CAREWare database will continuously be developed to meet data collection and reporting needs for Healthy Start.
  • Healthy Start grantees can customize the CAREWare database with custom fields, forms, and reports.
  • The Healthy Start TA & Support Center provides ongoing support to assist grantees in learning more about and using the CAREWare database.

Please submit a contact us form for all questions and/or feedback regarding the CAREWare database (including requests for trainings and/or demonstrations). The Healthy Start TA & Support Center will response within one to three business days.

The TASC held a webinar, Introduction to CAREWare. This webinar provided a demonstration of CAREWare and all it has to offer.

During this webinar we covered the following:

  • Adding and linking client record​s
  • Data collection of mandatory HRSA-MCHB forms
  • HSMED-II CSV File
  • Exporting Data

The TASC held a webinar on reporting called, Generating Required Healthy Start Reports. This training  was held specifically for CAREWare users.

During this training, we demonstrated streamlined processes and introduced user-friendly tools for using exported data to generate three different required reports:

  • Benchmark Performance Measures
  • Form-7
  • Form-5
