This plenary session addresses the real challenges and opportunities that meet us as we strive to accomplish our work during a time of unprecedented public health and social stress. Just as we’ve learned to focus on strengths, coping skills, and resilience with our clients, this is a time to take stock of our own strengths and resources, even as we acknowledge our vulnerabilities. Identifying sources of support and inspiration are essential to be able to maintain and sustain our goals and relationships. How do we keep the purpose and motivation for our work when dealing with such stress and limitations? As we navigate this time, it is essential that we acknowledge and find support for our own needs of mental wellness and resilience.
Speakers:
Wendy Davis, PhD, PMH-C, Executive Director at Postpartum Support International
During this plenary, attendees will receive a first-hand look at CAREWare, a free, electronic health and social support services information system customized for the data collection and reporting needs of Healthy Start grantees. We all try new ideas out every day. We don’t call them theories, but they are. We learn how our ideas work and use them or try something else. How can we develop leverage of prediction, reflection and continuous learning? How might we tap into the wisdom of those we serve, of our staff and partners to joyfully learn together? How do we seize our lived experiences to make a better world? Quality improvement is one way forward.
