Hear From Your Peer: Fetal Infant Mortality Review (FIMR) and Healthy Start: Strategies for Partnership on Preventing Infant Deaths

August 15, 2017

This webinar provided an overview of fetal infant mortality review (FIMR) and how it fits into the larger maternal and child health system. Four Healthy Start programs across the country shared their stories and described the benefits they have experienced from partnering with FIMR, such as reporting to inform their community action network, targeted safe sleep efforts, and the creation of media campaigns to educate and prevent infant death. Some of the programs featured were just starting out in their partnership and others had a long-standing engagement with FIMR. Common barriers and challenges from this work were also discussed, and helpful resources were shared.
