Please join the Healthy Start TA & Support Center (TASC) on Wednesday, September 17 from 11:00 am – 12 pm ET for the Strengthening Participation and Retention in Group-based Education.
Dr. Ebony Carter from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and community collaborator Cheron Phillips will discuss the foundational work their team has done around group-based care. The session will surface the building blocks of what makes a group effective, including facilitation, participant engagement, retention, and creating value in the first session, while also sharing early findings on recruitment and participant experiences.
Presenters will highlight lessons that Healthy Start sites can use to implement and sustain group-based education, including approaches that strengthen peer support, encourage active participation, and align community partnerships with care delivery systems. This session is designed to provide practical insights that grantees can apply directly to their own group-based efforts.
